A Christian in Brooklyn

Life as a Christian in Brooklyn NY

I am tired. And do you know why I am tired? I am a committed Christian living in Brooklyn, NY, and my female friends and acquaintances-the black ones far more than the others, I must admit-rarely invite me to their weddings. And trust me, it is not because of my personality. If I were to tell the truth, as a person, I couldn’t be more likable. I am just one of those people, always a joke or an amusing story to lighten up your day. But back to the matter at hand. Do you know why these ladies don’t invite me? Because they aren’t having weddings at all. Many of them aren’t getting married to begin with! Too many of them are single with no Godly prospects on the horizon.

And friend, jokes aside for a moment, there is nothing funny about this.

To me, it is one of the saddest things in the world.

This is part of the reason why I, along with my buddy and partner in crime, Sandra Barnes, decided to start this site and blog. We contend that the western branches of Christendom are in a crisis and that this crisis is one of missing males! From Western Europe, to North America to Latin America and the Caribbean, there are men missing in the pews.

At this site, we intend to explore all aspects of the missing males issue: its the deep, historic roots in western Christendom, its contemporary expressions and any possible solutions which are out there.

We look forward to you joining us!

Road trips are always more fun with a posse!
